Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the former director of the specialized agro-forestry enterprise has been notified of suspicion of abuse of power or official position (part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspect, while in office, used his official position contrary to the interests of the service. From July 2022 to December 2023, he sold timber, including oak species, at prices lower than market rates.

To do this, the director entered into unprofitable direct purchase and sale contracts for timber with business entities without conducting electronic auctions.

According to the results of the expertise, the difference between the market and actual value of their sale amounted to over 2 million UAH, causing damage to the forestry enterprise.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
