Collected for the enemy data on the location of the Ukrainian military and critical infrastructure in Kharkiv - exposed agent
31.07.2025
Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a Kharkiv resident was exposed, who in the fall of 2024 established contact with a representative of the Russian Federation via Telegram and, in exchange for monetary rewards, transmitted information about the location of Ukrainian military forces and energy infrastructure facilities in Kharkiv.
In addition, the agent's task was to identify the coordinates of mobile fire groups of air defense that protect transformer substations, modular boiler houses, and cogeneration plants — critical facilities that provide the city with heat and electricity after strikes on thermal power plants.
He also attempted to establish the locations of the TCCs. To do this, under the guise of ordinary conversations, he inquired about addresses from acquaintances who visited restricted facilities, after which he conducted covert photo documentation.
The collected information — coordinates, photographs, and textual explanations — was transmitted to the curator.
Law enforcement agencies uncovered the agent, and he was informed of suspicion regarding state treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail was imposed.
The pre-trial investigation and operational support are carried out by the SBU Office in the Kharkiv region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
