A resident of Sumy Oblast faces life imprisonment for treason

Prosecutors in Rivne region have submitted an indictment to the court against a resident of Sumy region under part 2 of Article 111, part 2, part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — treason committed under martial law, as well as the dissemination of materials that justify the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

It has been established that a 64-year-old resident of the city of Okhtyrka, carrying out the task of a representative of the Russian special services, collected and transmitted intelligence data regarding the locations of critical infrastructure facilities, checkpoints, and defense positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the region.

She sent photos and videos with markings of the objects on the map via “Telegram.” In addition, the woman spread propaganda materials justifying Russian aggression, and after the occupation of the city, she planned to take a position in the illegally established authorities.

She was detained while filming the border bridge. The Rivne City Court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention without the right to bail.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in Rivne region with operational support from the Main Counterintelligence Department of the regional security agency.
