He forced women to dig trenches - the Russian commander of the assault company will be tried in the Mykolayiv region

Prosecutors of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, in the course of a special pre-trial investigation (in absentia), have submitted an indictment to the court against the commander of the 6th Air Assault Company of the 2nd Battalion Tactical Group of military unit No. 42091 of the armed forces of the Russian Federation.

He is accused of cruel treatment of the civilian population and threats of sexual violence, committed by a group of persons in conspiracy (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation established that during the occupation of the village of Maksymivka in the Pervomaisk territorial community of the Mykolaiv district, the accused forced civilian residents to dig trenches.

From June to July 2022, daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, the Russian military forced two women and a man to dig trenches, justifying this as a form of punishment for disloyalty to the occupying authorities.

One of the residents of the village of Maksymivka was threatened by the accused with sexual actions against her.

For committing this crime, a punishment of up to 12 years of imprisonment is provided.

The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in the manner prescribed by law and confirmed by a guilty verdict of the court.
