Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General, a serviceman has been detained and notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving unlawful benefits for oneself or a third party for influencing the decision of a person authorized to perform state functions or local self-government, combined with the extortion of such benefits).

According to the investigation, the suspect organized a scheme to obtain unlawful benefits by influencing the decisions of officials from territorial recruitment and social support centers. This involved the exclusion of citizens from military registration and their removal from search lists.

In August of this year, he received the first part of the funds amounting to 3 thousand US dollars. During the transfer of the next part – 32 thousand US dollars – law enforcement officers detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Within the framework of the criminal proceedings, a verification is being conducted to identify other individuals involved in the illegal scheme.

The pre-trial investigation is being carried out under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine, with operational support from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
